Our 2019 Competition welcomed over young musicians from over 15 countries to London. Reviews of the 2018 and 2019 competitions can be found on our website. This year, we are having to run the competition without our usual private sponsor due to the financial difficulties that are being felt across the world. However, we are keeping all our 6 jurors (3 are Royal Academy of Music professors) and giving as much as we can in terms of awards which include 1-1 masterclasses and cash prizes.
We are offering 50% off entry fees to children of healthcare workers.
I was wondering if you could help us spread word of this year's Competition to students and young musicians at the Academy of Music please? We are open to young musicians of all nationalities and abilities aged 4-30 and categories are Strings, Piano, Voice, Woodwind & Brass. We would be most grateful for any help to get the word out; we really hope that young musicians will find it motivating and a source of positivity to keep them going with their music during this difficult time. Deadline for entry is 3rd August 2020.
We are also running a series of live interviews (#NewTalentLiveChats) on Instagram with our previous competition award winners and guest musicians to talk about how they are dealing with the situation around Covid-19 and how they are keeping themselves engaged and motivated through this challenging time as well as some practice and performance tips. These interviews and discussions will be available on our media channels for everyone to watch and get involved with, without any obligation to enter for the Competition. If your young musicians would like to get involved in our live chats, we would be thrilled to welcome them and hear their ideas.
