International Scientific Symposium 2023:
The Art of Inclusion and Unification through Music

The theme of this year's interdisciplinary International Scientific Symposium of the University of Ljubljana Academy of Music was chosen based on the current challenges faced by contemporary individuals and society. The key questions that will guide the symposium are: "How can music contribute to the creation of a comprehensive supportive environment for individuals, which consequently reflects in a healthy society?" and "How can we ensure conditions for music to be accessible to everyone in the educational environment and truly include and unite diverse individuals into a harmonious whole?"
The purpose of this year's symposium is to gain insight into the work of various disciplines (music pedagogy, music psychology, medicine, sociology, anthropology, musicology, etc.) in integrating music for the well-being of individuals and society.
The International Scientific Symposium of the University of Ljubljana Academy of Music 2023 addresses inclusion in the broadest sense of the word – the intertwining of various disciplines that seek ways of inclusion and integration through music, the intersection of art, science, and profession, and the interweaving of different identity roles in musicians.
The future of our society and the individuals within it lies in embracing diversity and building on the potential of each individual in a harmonious relationship with others – and music can play a crucial role in that.
