The application deadline for the Preparatory Non-Degree Program is 12 PM (noon) on 1 February.
The Preparatory Non-Degree Program is an unaccredited study program, preparing those who wish to study at the University of Ljubljana Academy of Music for the audition of musical and artistic talent required for Bachelor’s Degree programs.
Candidates are free to choose the courses that best suit their interests and goals. Options include selecting only the principal study course, one of the music theory courses, a combination of both, or all the courses offered.
The Program concludes with an exam, which may take the form of a class performance and/or an oral exam. Upon completing the program, the students will receive a certificate of attendance.
Lessons in the principal study course are conducted on an individual basis, as arranged with the teacher. They can be scheduled weekly or in intensive blocks.
The principal study program in Composition can be undertaken remotely or in a hybrid format.
Individual lessons are offered in Slovenian or English, and, depending on the professor, may also be available in Italian, German, or French.
Group lessons are conducted in Slovenian, or in English if there are several non-Slovenian students.
The candidates for enrollment in the Preparatory Non-Degree Program are chosen by departmental juries on the basis of submitted recordings and CVs. The number of accepted candidates depends on the availability of teachers. The music theory modules, which are taught in a group format, will only be offered if a sufficient number of candidates apply.
If a candidate does not achieve the necessary level of knowledge, they are advised to retake the Preparatory Non-Degree Program.
