For potential academy students, preparatory courses are offered to prepare them for the Academy’s demanding entrance examinations, providing necessary instrumental and theoretical background and review. Applicants can compile a study plan that best suits their interests and aims: they can either select all the offered subjects or choose either the main subject or (one of) the music-theory subjects. There is also an option to choose (only) Piano as a supplementary instrument.
The program in the main subject (Singing / Instrument, Conducting) will be performed live in two parts, on 11th and 12th of March and 6th and 7th of May 2022. By individual agreement with the pedagogue, contact hours can be arranged also differently, e.g. once a week.
For the main subject (Composition), the program will be carried out online between 28th of February and 13th of May.
The program in solfeggio will be adapted and shortened to 5 hours (price 75 EUR) and carried out online between 28 February and 13 May.
The selection of candidates for enrollment in the Preparatory Program will be done by departmental commissions on the basis of the submitted recordings and biographies of the candidates. The number of accepted candidates will depend on the availability of teachers. The courses in Solfeggio and Musik Theory (Harmony, Counterpoint, Musical Forms) will be carried out if at least 5 candidates apply for each of them.
The program concludes with a final test of knowledge in the form of either a class performance or a written or oral exam. If the candidate does not reach the appropriate level of knowledge will be advised to re-attend the Preparatory Course.
The student will receive a certificate after successfully finishing a preparatory course.
IMPORTANT: The deadline for applying to the Preparatory Program has been extended to 17th of February 2023 at noon.
