V ospredju foruma bodo vprašanja o tem, kako študenti danes razumejo vlogo učitelja glasbe, s kakšnimi pričakovanji in izzivi vstopajo v poklic ter kakšno prihodnost glasbenega izobraževanja si predstavljajo. Posebna pozornost bo namenjena njihovim vizijam, izkušnjam in idejam o znanjih, kompetencah in načinih delovanja, ki jih bo učitelj glasbe potreboval v hitro spreminjajočem se izobraževalnem in družbenem okolju.
Program bo vključeval interaktivne delavnice, predavanja, razprave in druge dejavnosti, pri katerih bodo študenti aktivno sodelovali s svojimi vnaprej pripravljenimi gradivi, izkušnjami in idejami. Mednarodno okolje bo omogočilo spoznavanje in primerjavo različnih izobraževalnih sistemov in študijskih izkušenj ter spodbudilo izmenjavo pogledov na položaj in prihodnost učiteljev glasbe v različnih evropskih okoljih.
Forum bo vsebinsko povezan z mednarodnim znanstvenim simpozijem »Učitelji glasbe v spreminjajočem se svetu: vizije, prakse in prihodnost šolstva / Music Teachers in a Changing World: Visions, Practices, and the Future of Education«.

The International Student Forum 2026, taking place on 23 and 24 November 2026 at the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana, will bring together music education students from various European higher education institutions. Organised as part of a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), the forum will focus primarily on the voices of students – future music teachers – and their perspectives on the teaching profession, the challenges of contemporary education, and their future professional roles.
The forum will explore how students today perceive the role of music teachers, what expectations and challenges they face as they enter the profession, and how they envision the future of music education. Particular attention will be given to their visions, experiences, and ideas regarding the knowledge, competencies, and approaches that music teachers will need in a rapidly changing educational and social environment.
The programme will include interactive workshops, lectures, discussions, and other activities in which students will actively participate by sharing their previously prepared materials, experiences, and ideas. The international setting will provide opportunities to explore and compare different educational systems and study experiences, while encouraging the exchange of perspectives on the role and future of music teachers across various European contexts.
The forum will be closely linked to the international scientific symposium “Music Teachers in a Changing World: Visions, Practices, and the Future of Education.” By bringing the perspectives of the next generation of music teachers into the broader symposium discussions, the Student Forum will create opportunities for students, educators, and researchers to connect and reflect together on the future of the teaching profession and music education.
